Happy Thanksgiving

Now thank we all our God

With hearts and hands and voices,

Who wondrous things hath done,

In whom His world rejoices;

Who from our mothers’ arms

Hath blessed us on our way

With countless gifts of love,

And still is ours today.

— Martin Rinkart

It would take me a month or more to come up with an exhaustive list of that which I’m thankful for this year.  In no particular order, here’s The Short List:

 — A faithful God and His infallible, inerrant Word

— Snuggle Bunny

— Rachmaninoff

— Good books

— Hot chocolate

— Family and friends

— Ice cream

— My home church

— A functioning furnace

— Good Health

— Electricity

— A free country

— My neighbors

— Sunshine

— Rainbows

— Hikes

— Hot showers

— Libraries

— Candlelight

— Dependency on a loving Lord for everything from redemption to our daily bread.

Come, Thou Fount of ev’ry blessing

Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;

Streams of mercy, never ceasing

Call for songs of loudest praise.

Teach me some melodious sonnet

Sung by flaming tongues above;

Praise the mount – I’m fixed upon it

Mount of Thy redeeming love.
